Digit media project week 5: Getting ready fro my first interview

Semester 1: secondary data (Data collected and recorded by another researcher earlier)
Semester 2: Primary data (data you collect through first hand sources)

Qantatative data: In the shape of numbers and percentages (content anaylis, how many people use spotifys playlists) (Statista, Q state project)

.Questenaires, provide numeric descriptions but must be clear and quick (no open ended questions), You can generalise the entire population with this method. However highlight this as your sample size will be too small to generalise. 

Demo questionnaire:

What music streaming service do you use to listen to music?
1.Spotify
2.Apple Music
3.Youtube
4.Tidal

If you use Spotify, do you use the playlists made by Spotify? e.g Release radar 
Yes/No 

Are you reccomended music outside of your favourite genres?
Yes/now

Do you feel as if Spotify plays your most listened to songs more frequently?
yes/no

.Media diary: 


Qalitative data: (takes the form of words) (Interviews and stuff)

.Interviews are the most common: (go in with a list of pre-prepared questions that link to your aims and objectives) 
-Audio record the questions, or video record
-Ask open ended questions 
-Listen and ask follow up questions
-preferably online but face to face is best mush

.Focus groups:
-Apposing views from the actual particapents themsleves 
-more efficient and saves time 

Research methods

Mixed methods approach (1 quantatative and 1 qualatative research methods)

Normally start with a questionare and follow this an with an interview 


Research aims and objectives:

-The overall research aims of my project will be to examine users experience using spotifys algorithms to listen to music.
-The objectives of my project are to explain how Spotifys algorithms effect users music tastes 

-Do users find it difficult to find new music
