Artifacts

What Are UX Artefacts?

DefinitionUX artefacts are the tangible deliverables produced during the design process to communicate research insights, design decisions, and user flows.

PurposeThese artefacts help teams and stakeholders understand user needs, ideate solutions, and map out the overall user experience.

TypesFrom research findings to wireframes and prototypes, UX artefacts ensure clear communication and alignment.

Overview of Key UX Artefacts (some of the most popular Artefacts)

PersonasFictional characters representing different user types.

WireframesBasic blueprints for layout and structure of the design.

Journey MapsVisual representations of the user’s interaction with a product over time.

Other ExamplesEmpathy maps, prototypes, sitemaps, user flows.

Best Practices for Creating Personas

Based on ResearchUse qualitative and quantitative research to create realistic personas.

Focus on User Goals & Pain PointsHighlight key goals, challenges, and needs.

Personality & BehaviorCapture user motivations and behaviors, not just demographics.

ActionableEnsure personas are directly useful for design decisions, not just a formality.

For my product I will do:

Research artefact - Competitior analysis (VUE, ODION)

-A good idea would be to research competitors apps and how they allow users to access the different elements so that I can utilise these elements into my project. Crafting it into a service that is targted to people looking for local films shown in smaller theatres.

-Look at trustpilot reviews and see what people want changed so that you can create a even better ux.

Design artifact - Wireframe (Describe each element of my app)
